A total of 312,390 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine have arrived on Malaysia on Sunday morning. It is expected that more doses are going to arrive after few weeks.
Malaysia aims to vaccinate at least 80 percent of its total population within a year. It has imposed more lockdowns this ear with the new wave of coronavirus infections. The country recorded about 280,272 cases and 1051 deaths.
The second delivery will be made on feb 26, according to the science minister Khairy Jamaluddin said in a virtual news conference.
Vaccines from China’ Sinovac Biotech are also scheduled to be delivered as soon as it gets approval.
