Both bands belong to the third generation of the K-pop music world. They both have earned a great deal of respect not only in South Korea but also worldwide. Likewise, BTS is senior to BLACKPINK as they debuted in 2013 with seven members, Jin, Suga, J-hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. They debuted under Big Hit Entertainment which is currently HYBE Entertainment. Similarly, BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 with four members, Jisoo, Jenni, Rose, and Lisa. They debuted under South Korea’s top entertainment company YG Entertainment.

Both groups are extremely successful and have a significant global fan following, with their individual achievements reflected in their separate success graphs. When their names are stated together, however, everyone’s attention is immediately drawn to them. Recently there has been an upsurge in articles headlining BTS V and BLACKPINK Jenni. Those surfaced speculation was about a possible love relationship between BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie, whose full name is Kim Jennie. These rumors have received a lot of attention in the media.

Recent reports on social media have suggested a romantic relationship between BTS member V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie. When a video of the two K-pop artists strolling hand-in-hand and demonstrating affection for each other leaked online. The video garnered steam. According to reports, V, whose actual name is Kim Taehyung, flew to France for fashion shoots and business promotions. Jennie Kim had a scheduled appearance at the Cannes Film Festival on May 22. Where she would promote her breakthrough starring role in the HBO series The Idol.

Likewise, V and Jennie’s relationship has been the subject of dating rumors before. In May 2022, images of a man and a woman in a vehicle on Jeju Island leaked online. This lead many to believe they were BTS V and BLACKPINK Jennie. However, this was never confirmed. Furthermore, personal photographs of the two together surfaced on social media sites such as Twitter and Telegram in August. An anonymous hacker allegedly posted the images after illegally acquiring access to them. YG Entertainment responded by filing a legal complaint with South Korean authorities, urging them to investigate the original uploader of Jennie’s private images. However, the authorities have not released any additional information about the event.

HYBE and YG’s Statement

In reaction to the recent video that appeared online, supposedly showing BTS’ V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie on a date in Paris. The respective agencies of V and Jennie, HYBE (previously Big Hit Entertainment), and YG Entertainment, have issued brief statements.

After the video started circulating on social media, Sports Seoul contacted the agencies for a statement. HYBE and YG Entertainment stated in their comments that verifying the scenario at hand is impossible. Furthermore, they mentioned that they cannot offer precise information regarding the situation.

YG Entertainment replied similarly at the time, saying they had nothing to say about the situation. By making such vague statements, the agencies have neither acknowledged nor rejected the dating rumors surrounding V and Jennie. This has further enabled fans and the general public to speculate the nature of their relationship. It has also allowed them to draw their own conclusion based on the available information.
