- Effects on Liver
Soft drinks contain an excessive amount of fructose. The only liver can metabolize fructose. So, if we consume too much, it becomes overload to the liver and turns fructose into flat. Some of the fats get shipped out as blood triglycerides and the remaining will lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
- No Essential Nutrients
Soft drinks don’t contain any essential nutrients. They contain excessive sugar and nothing else in it.
- Cold Drinks May Be Addictive
Numerous studies show that sugar and processed junk foods affect your brain like hard drugs. Sugar may cause food addiction.
In rats, sugar can be physically addictive. Sugary substances cause dopamine release in the brain giving a feeling of pleasure which can be addictive in long term.
